Celebrated Grandaughter Tarinni’s Birthday, Visited the Spectacular Waterfalls & magical man-made Rutshellir Caves of Iceland

We had made all requisite preparations the previous evening for Tarinni’s birthday celebration like procuring a nice cake ,blowing baloons ,setting Candles on the table beside the cake, etc !Birthday Celebrations arranged in the open with cool refreshing breeze blowing! We kept the Celebration very simple with only 5 of us participants!Of course we connected with our relatives & few friends in India through Video Conferencing! Cake cutting ceremony was performed & the little cute Tarinni was showered with hearty wishes on the occasion !After the ceremony ,we started for the visit of Waterfalls.

We visited the following three waterfalls :

B)SKOGAFOSS WATERFALLS: Its one of the most beautiful waterfalls of Iceland. There is a winding path leading to the top of the waterfall with a watchtower enabling a close look at the begining point of the waterfall. The scene below was quite mesmerising with surrounding areas full of panaromic views prompting us for a extended photo session.

C)URRIDAFOSS WATERFALLS : UrriΓ°afoss is a waterfall in the ÞjΓ³rsΓ‘ River. ÞjΓ³rsΓ‘ is Iceland’s longest river, 230 km, and UrriΓ°afoss is the most voluminous waterfall in the country. This mighty river drops down (360 m3/sec) by the edge of the ÞjΓ³rsΓ‘rhraun lava field in beautiful and serene surroundings. ÞjΓ³rsΓ‘rhraun lava field is the result of the greatest lava flow on earth since the Ice Age. It is located right off highway 1.

I am a travel enthusiast from Jaipur, India always full of curiosity to explore new places marked by some cultural, geographical & historical significance around the globe. Also I love visiting places full of adventure/mystery & have undertaken many amazing trekking expeditions to difficult locations needing toughness of body, soul &the spirit. I have explored most of Indian states/UTs to learn about their culture, had cultural exchange with people & learnt to respect their religious beliefs/customs.In September 2019, we went on our first foreign trip(50 days)to Netherlands, France, Belgium& Switzerland.Again in July 2022 ,we got a chance to visit Europe & have visited(75-day trip)Italy ,Portugal, Germany,Spain & Vatican city. The trips were full of amazing monuments, natural landscapes & places of great scenic beauty.Enjoyed the visit enormously.Having traveled so much I felt like travel blogging & here I am doing just that !Apart from travel-blogging I also like poetry. Basically I am an Electrical Engineer retired recently from Central Govt. Service after serving for 38 yrs. Meanwhile I have completed my Master of Social Work degree to pursue my Social obligations towards my fellow beings & am engaged in rendering Social Services to the needy &the disadvantaged ! Also I will like to pursue my new-found interest/hobby of writing Travelogues to benefit my readers by providing max. details like statistics, demography, historical origin, way of life , professions , languages spoken & the culture/customs associated with any place. While enjoying any tourist place, I simply advocate that one must also try to learn about the place. I travel and then share the collected information with the potential traveler .Hence the name of my site - Travel and share.😊

  1. Thank you, Dhirendra, for the beautiful photos of cute Tarinni’s Birthday, including the splendid cake, balloons, candles, and her pretty red dress and ribbon! The best thing to see was the deep family love, and I can only wish her to be surrounded by love all her long life. I loved the wonderful idea to have a video celebration of the birthday with your relatives and friends in India. After that, your visit to the spectacular three waterfalls was pure magic, with a walk behind the waterfall, a shower, and even a rainbow! I love the history of the geological formation of the waterfalls and caves in Iceland. The heartwarming pictures of a beautiful and loving family were the very best one can wish for in life!
